Called Pilots for their ability to control Titans, they are the extremely versatile foot soldiers controlled by the player in Titanfall. Every pilot is outfitted with a jumpkit, allowing them to perform various parkour movements, including double jumping, wall running, and Mantling. Pilots are anything but vertically anchored. However, the jumpkit takes years to learn to use effectively, and is "hard on your knees," as grunts can occasionally be heard saying.

Pilot's extreme skill are likely a result of the brutality of the training grounds they come from, of which has a 98% fatality rate. It is also rumored that Pilots are a form of super soldiers, much like Halo's Spartans, as is made evident through Grunt dialogue. According to them, the Pilots are on a entirely different level than them. This would also add a lore-friendly explanation on how Pilots are able to deliver lethal kicks and snap necks with such relative ease. On top of that, Pilots would have to be quite bodily strong in order to withstand the stims often used by pilots, of which two drops can keep a Grunt from sleeping for an entire week.
